Columbia College Chi Alpha, a campus Christian ministry, plans to hold a bonfire for Columbia College students from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1., at Miller Lawn.
“We’re having typical bonfire stuff — hot dogs, smores, games,” said Britani Siebeneck, Chi Alpha coordinator at Columbia College.
Students can also participate in a variety of games in front of Miller Hall.
“We’re having a frozen T-shirt contest. We will pick out four or five students to break them open [out of ice] and also a popsicle eating contest,” said Siebeneck.
Chi Alpha will also hold a discussion group around 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, in Dulany Dining Hall’s Cougar Room.
“Students are welcome to bring their lunch and discuss what we [Chi Alpha] believe, why we believe in Jesus, to prayer. We’re testing it out this Thursday and see how it goes,” Siebeneck said.
“It’s a way for Columbia College Christian students to plug in and for students that are seeking or maybe have questions about Christianity to have a safe place to come and ask questions,” she said.
