Those were my first thoughts this morning in the newsroom – I think before that, 7:30 a.m. was clouding my conscious way too much for a simple thought to break through.
I parked in Hitt Garage and walked in, dragging my sparkly black flats a little but still having a smile on my face. I introduced myself to Tom, the chief editor of the Missourian, and made myself known to be around to my ACE (Assistant City Editor) for my General Assignment shift today. Abby already knew me, so it wasn’t that big of a deal. She has been a huge blessing in this first-story-writing process, I can’t imagine what my life would be like at the Missourian without her. She’s super patient with me, and, let’s be real – I get nervous. Easily.
I have my interview with the President of Columbia College here in half an hour, and I’m nervous about how it’s going to go. I’ve written my questions, done my research and have a genuine idea of how the story is going to flow. I’m excited just to get it done so I can say, “Here, I have it done.”
