Columbia College receives funding for student services

Columbia College’s TRIO program received funding from the U.S. Department of Education to continue its services for another five years, according to a news release from Columbia College.

Services provided include tutoring, scholarship and financial aid assistance, cultural activities and graduate school and career exploration, among others, according to the program’s website.

The TRIO Program is designed to encourage eligible students to succeed by completing their education at a university, according to the release.

Eligible students include first-generation college students, meaning neither of the student’s parents earned a college degree, students who meet federal income guidelines and students with documented physical, learning and mental health disabilities, according to the program’s website.
